Those “Certain”
Years
And Days Of ‘Daniel’s
People’
Part Three
“About the Times of the End, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the prophecies, and insist upon their literal interpretation, in the midst of much clamor and opposition.”
Sir Isaac Newton, 1643-1727
“And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted
up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who
created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things
that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that
there should be time no longer: But in the days of the voice of the seventh
angel,
when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his
servants the prophets.”
Revelation 10:5-7 KJV
“And when they shall have
finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the
bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill
them.”
Revelation 11:7 KJV
“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven,
saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our
Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders, which sat
before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, Saying,
We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to
thee thy great power, and hast reigned.”
Revelation 11:15-17 KJV
“And the nations were angry, and thy
wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the
prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great;…..”
Revelation
“And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a
rod of iron: and her
child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.”
Revelation 12:5 KJV
“And at that
time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even
to that same time: and at that time thy
people shall be delivered, every one that
shall be found written in the book. And
many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life.....”
Daniel 12:1-2 KJV
“Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the
thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.”
Daniel
“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that
were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and
for the word of God, and which had not
worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had
received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and
they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead
lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath
part in the first resurrection:….”
Revelation 20:4-6 KJV
“And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked
of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the
Mark
As explained earlier, chapters 10 and 12 of Revelation enclose chapter 11, the MIDDLE chapter of the book. And, by paying close attention to the progressive, unfolding order of the text as written by the Holy Spirit, the reader can be perfectly satisfied that the amazing and astonishing events revealed here are indeed occurring in the very MIDDLE of the Tribulation, at the END of the first 1260 days! Note, that “all these things are finished” following the previous “hereafter” in 9:12, are occurring in the midst of 11:11, which says…”And after three days and an half” which follow after the 1260th day on which the Two Witnesses are killed and then raised from the dead on the 1263 ½ day. From that point on, the text is again consecutively unfolding up until 15:5, which is the next “And after that”…..
Just in passing, isn’t it interesting that the phrase, “and after three days and a half” falls right at the time of “three years and a half?”
If you have become familiar with the passage in Isaiah 26:17-21, you will recognize the order in which it has been written. Carefully notice the words….
“Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her
delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her
pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD. 18:
We have been
with child, we have been in pain, we have as it
were brought forth wind; we
have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of
the world fallen.
19: Thy dead men shall live, together
with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust:
for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. 20: Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about
thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be
overpast. 21: For, behold, the LORD
cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their
iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her
slain.”
The description of this ‘woman’ with child, near the time of her delivery, in pain and crying
out in her pangs’…is definitely the picture
of the same woman, Israel
who is travailing in her pain and is about to deliver her ‘man child up to His
throne’ in the MIDDLE of
the Tribulation, on the 1260th
day in Revelation 12:1-2. The Old Testament term “my
people” refers to
Next, comes a description by Isaiah, FIRST of the resurrection of the righteous of ISRAEL, “Thy dead men shall live,” in which he expected to participate…”together with my dead body shall they arise.”
Then, comes the invitation by the Lord extended to HIS people, the redeemed of
Note the order…the “Woman” is delivered
of her travail and birth pangs FIRST (within
the time of Jacob’s Trouble) and THEN after “her resurrection from the
dead,” she enters ‘the inner chambers’
of Heaven, where she is protected ‘until
the GREAT fury and indignation’ of the Lord upon the wicked passes over during
the last half of the Tribulation! Likewise, the living
“Woman” of the Jewish remnant who remains on the earth is also protected from this GREAT Wrath, in ‘the cleft of the rock’…in the
wilderness, in the Judean mountains and all over the world.
There are three texts in the Bible where the bodily resurrection of the
saints is described in some detail. In
Isaiah 27, for
A resurrection, of course, is implied in the text of Revelation 20: 4-6, as there is mention of ‘the first resurrection’ in connection with the rewarding of those “souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands.” Of course, this can only be speaking of the Tribulation martyrs as their description is of being ‘witnesses of Jesus Christ’ who had not worshipped the beast nor received his mark!
There are 5 stages and 7 groups in the First Resurrection-
Jesus being the first (1), followed by the Old Testaments saints under
Law who came out of their graves with Jesus, who were the foreshadow of the
resurrection of the redeemed Jews in the Tribulation (2),
the New Testament Church (3), the Two Witnesses
(4), and the Old
Testament saints (5) and the redeemed Gentiles
saved during the first half of the Tribulation (“them that fear thy name, small and
great”), all
on the 1263rd day (6), and the
final stage- of the Tribulation martyrs at the end
of the Tribulation (7).
[ From Scripture, we know there are two resurrections: Jesus said this about the ‘second’ one in
John
Even Daniel 12: 2, refers to two resurrections- separated by a period of time, 1,000 years, the Kingdom age…. “And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
In the MIDDLE of
the Tribulation, on
or very near the 1260th day, here is a list of astonishing events that
occur, from Revelation 10, 11 and 12:
1. The angel appears with “the little book” from which John is commanded to “prophesy again,” to ‘the Goiim’…the
Gentile nations
2. The ‘uttering of the seven thunders’ of which John was commanded
not to write down because of their seemingly awesome
terribleness
3. The angel which I saw
stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven and said…”
THAT THERE SHOULD BE TIME NO LONGER”
(Daniel 12:7)
4. The prophecy of the Two
Witnesses “is
finished”
5. The beast “ascends out
of the bottomless pit and kills the Two Witnesses”
This would be the most logical
day on which the Old Testaments saints are raised also, along with the Gentile
saints who come to faith in the first half of the Tribulation, however, there
very well could be a resurrection on the 1335th day itself,
about which the Bible makes no further
comment. Either way, God was very clear
to give the Old Testament saints such hope for their 1335th day !
7. “At that same
hour there is a great earthquake in
8. “The seventh angel sounds” … “But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, WHEN HE SHALL BEGIN
TO SOUND, THE MYSTERY OF GOD SHOULD BE
FINISHED, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets” (an obvious Old Testament reference)
9. The antichrist has
accomplished ‘the scattering of the power of the holy people, the Jews, and
proceeds to break his covenant of false peace which
he had offered to
(Daniel 12:7)….” when he
shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished”
The antichrist breaks his
covenant with
10. Thou,
Oh Lord hast taken to thee thy great
power, and hast reigned”
THE
[ Notice, what Revelation 19: 6 says: “And I heard as it were the
voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice
of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God
omnipotent reigneth.”
He already is reigning as King of
Kings, and Lords of Lords, before He comes riding out of Heaven, in verse 11! ]
This is the end of the ‘6th Day,’ the
end of the 6,000 years of the ‘time of man,’ the end of the time when “My Spirit will strive with man,” at the time “the mystery of God is finished, when time shall be no longer.”
(There is no mention in Revelation of any one
coming to repentance in the last half of the Tribulation ! )
The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of
his Christ;
Revelation
[ from the
Greek: “are become” is the prophetic use of the aorist
participle, already a fact
]
The kingdoms of this world become “the kingdoms of
our Lord and of his Christ,” at
the time of the opening of the great ‘7th’ day, at the beginning of the 7,000 years of the
Kingdom Age!
The Millennial
Kingdom Age, the Kingdom of David begins IN THE MIDDLE OF SEVEN in Heaven, but also at the end of 7th year, at
the end of a 49th year and at
the end of Daniel’s 490th year,
at the opening of the 50th year,
in the nation of
Jesus Christ
roars out of Heaven in Revelation 19, already crowned
‘ KING OF KINGS’ !
11. “…AND THE
TIME OF THE DEAD, THAT THEY SHOULD BE JUDGED, AND THAT THOU SHOULDEST GIVE REWARD UNTO THY SERVANTS
THE PROPHETS, which is the resurrection of the Old Testament saints, as ‘thy
people Daniel” (Daniel 12: 1-2,) and to the saints, and them that fear thy
name, small and great…”(the Gentile Tribulation
believers).
12. There is a
war in heaven, and Satan and all his demons are cast down to earth
where they will be confined. (There
are 404 verses in the book of Revelation.
The MIDDLE verse is the 202nd
verse….Revelation 12:8.
12:7-8 say this:
“And
there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and
the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place
found any more in heaven.”
13. “The Woman” is delivered
of the man child who has been delivered up to Heaven
and to His Throne. HER TRAVAIL HAS CEASED
UPON HER ‘DELIVERY.’ She flees to the wilderness for her protection during the last
half of the Tribulation.
14. Satan follows after the
Woman but he is thwarted in his attempt…and “goes after the rest of her seed…
“ to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the
testimony of Jesus Christ”
15. The dragon
gives his power to the beast, and the beast and the false prophet begin
their authority for the last 42
months of the Tribulation.
16. The ‘mark of
the beast’ cannot be implemented UNTIL the beast and his false prophet
are given their authority. It cannot
be forced upon the earth-dwellers until the 1260th day, at the very
least.
Next, comes the 1290th
day…on which this
occurs…..
1. “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be
taken away, and the abomination that
maketh desolate set up, there shall be a
thousand two hundred and ninety days
2. “When ye therefore
shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand
in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in
From the 1260th day,
thru the 1290th day until the 1335th day….during these intervening 75 days…the following horrendous things
occur which greatly affect “the rest of her seed” who are the Jewish
believers in Y’shua, not hidden and protected either in the wilderness nor in
the Judean mountains…..but who stay behind in Jerusalem and Israel to help the
rest of the unbelieving of the nation, in order help them a little, to come to
faith in Y’shua, their Messiah before it is too late! These are called “they that understand among the people” in Daniel
“And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary
of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the
abomination that maketh desolate. 32: And such as do wickedly against the
covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall
be strong, and do exploits.
33: And they that understand among the people shall instruct many:
yet they shall fall by the sword, and
by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. 34:
Now when they shall fall, they shall
be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with
flatteries. 35: And some of them of understanding
shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time
of the end:
because it is yet for a time appointed. 36:
And
the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and
magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the
God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished:
for that that is determined shall be done.
37: Neither shall he
regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. 38:
But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers
knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and
pleasant things.”
In other words… by the arrival
of the 1335th day, all the believing remnant of
Jesus was addressing this dreadful time…from the 1260th
day forward to the end of the Tribulation, in Luke 21. He must have had in mind mainly the unsaved of Israel and the ‘Judean
remnant’ up to the 1290th
day, and the dear martyrs up to the 1335th day, who willingly gave up their
lives in order to bring others to repentance:
notice what He said in these very ominous verses:
20: “And when ye shall see
21: Then let them which
are in
22: For these be the
days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23: But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give
suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24: And they shall fall by the
edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and
WOE upon the unsaved of Israel,
“this people” who do not come to repentance and
faith in Y’shua, their Messiah by the 1335th day! There is a time coming just ahead which will
be the pouring out of God’s Great Wrath
upon them as well as all unbelievers on the Earth !
Again, it is at the MIDDLE of the Tribulation of which Daniel 12:1
speaks….”And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which
standeth for the children of thy people: and
there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation
even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.”
Just a personal observation here…returning again to the moving prayer of Moses for his own dear nation. I cannot help but wonder if the Holy Spirit implanted this special thought in Moses’ heart to make this particular plea to the Lord….Psalm 90:12-15:
“So teach us to number our days, that
we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy
servants. O satisfy us early with
thy mercy; that we
may rejoice and be glad all our days. Make
us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have
seen evil.”
Even though in Hebrew, the word ‘early’ has the
meaning of ‘at dawn,’ ‘in the early morning at
sunrise,’ could it possibly
have a further meaning, as indeed, the Holy One of Israel has heard and will
answer this ancient prayer, by sparing His own chosen, believing Jewish people
from the full, unrestrained, outpouring of
God’s wrath in that Great and Terrible Day of the Lord? He has planned to ‘satisfy them early with His mercy!’
Remember what Daniel
In Scripture, there are four individual groups that have been
given the responsibility of delivering the message of God’s salvation to the
people of the earth. The first group was
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto
all nations; and then shall the end come.”
It is not the Church that delivers the “gospel of the
kingdom” at the end as she will have been
removed at least 3 ½
years before this time,
but to the angel of Revelation 14, is given this LAST
responsibility of delivering the Gospel…
and.... THEN THE END
SHALL COME !
But note this…there is NO mention of earth dwellers coming to repentance because of the preaching by the angel. This occurs just before the full, unrestrained outpouring of God’s Great Wrath upon the earth. Revelation 15:1 opens with the statement: “1: And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.” In fact…
way back in Revelation 9:20 and
21, it says this: “And the rest of the men which were not
killed by these plagues yet
repented not of the works of their hands, that they
should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone,
and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their
murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
“
Again, we see no evidence in Scripture of any soul coming to repentance after
the 1335th day of the Tribulation!
In Revelation 15:7-8… just before the pouring out of the last 7 vial judgments, no man will be able to enter ‘the
temple in heaven,’ which I personally believe will preclude any one from coming
to salvation during that period…. “ And one of
the four beasts gave unto the
seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who
liveth for ever and ever. And the temple
was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter
into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.”
During this time, Revelation 16:9 says: “And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God,
which hath power over these plagues:
and they repented not to give him glory”…and this
statement is repeated in verse 11…”
And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their
sores, and repented
not of their deeds.”
To summarize the important points of discussion thus far, about the MIDDLE of the Tribulation, in the MIDDLE of seven….
God superimposed the benchmark prophecy of ‘Daniel’s 70 Weeks’ upon the Sabbatical cycle of
the nation of Israel, for its main thrust was to reveal to the Jews exactly
when their own dear Messiah would come to them to make atonement for their sin,
and the sin of all mankind. He then so
graciously guaranteed that benchmark dates
would be historically preserved in order that the nation would again be able to
‘count their days.’ God went on to tell
the Jewish believers in Him exactly how long they would have to wait until ‘all these things will be finished’ at the end
of ‘time, times and half a time’ and ‘the end
of their days.’ What He revealed clearly to the precious
redeemed of Israel who were ‘thy people, Daniel’
was this: that during
the ‘time of Jacob’s Trouble,’ though it would be a very perilous
and evil three and one half years, designed to
take place again under the dispensation of Law, this time will be the last time ‘to try them, and to
purge, and to make them white.’ Further, God revealed exactly when their arch enemy, the
antichrist would break his covenant
with the nation of
Part Four, the final part, will attempt to show how Daniel’s certain years and days could begin to unfold with this coming spring, in 2005.
