Gunmen have shot dead seven people at a Christian charity in Karachi's central business district, Pakistani police say. They entered the third-floor offices of the Institute for Peace and Justice (IPJ) and shot their victims in the head. Karachi police chief Tariq Jamil said the victims had their hands tied and their mouths had been covered with tape. All those killed were Pakistani Christians.

The gunmen escaped after the attack in thesouthern port city which has seen mounting attacks this year on Western and Christian targets. The BBC reports that the IPJ has never taken part in religious politics in Pakistan. Run by Christians, it has focused on helping the poorest sections of society.

Today, in most Islamic controlled countries, Christians are under some threat and possibly extreme danger. While propaganda sweeps rapidly throughout the United States, Christians must learn the truth. The church must wake up to the call to support those who are persecuted for their belief in Jesus Christ.
